In among the debris from the fleet, an old rusting sheet. 

While this has a temporary surface beauty, it signifies pollution at Earth challenging scale. 

And while picking it up is a noble act, not dropping it in the first place is nobler.

Better still; a system to sustain and enrich life which does not depend on the destruction of life.
